Difference between Diet Coke and Cock Zero

In 2017, the Coca Cola Company has announced the discontinuous of Coke Zero with the replacement of Coke Zero. It will give the real Coca Cola taste as the company wants to add some unique flavors. It was only a marketing move of the company and people were not pleased with this news. So it makes people think the main difference between Diet Coke and Zero Coke. If you look at the ingredients between these differences. They aren’t actually all that different. So we can say that there is a common list of ingredients on both options. However, there are some differences between Coke    Zero and Diet Coke.

  • Ingredients Differences

If we make the comparison of Coke Zero and Diet Coke then we can see some differences between the ingredients of both.

Diet Coke and Coke Zero have very similar ingredients, which have been listed on Coca-Cola’s website. We can see sodium, phenylalanine (an amino acid), carbonated water, caramel color, phosphoric acid (an acid that gives soda a tangy flavor and prevents mold and bacteria), aspartame (a monosaccharide sweetener), potassium benzoate (a food preservative), natural flavors, and caffeine in both options. Both also include ingredients sourced from genetically engineered (GE) crops, which are commonly referred to as genetically modified organisms (GMOs).

The ingredients of Coke Zero are given below,

Carbonated water, phosphoric acid, aspartame, caramel color, potassium benzoate, natural flavors, potassium citrate, acesulfame potassium, caffeine

While Diet Coke has some same ingredients as in Coke Zero but here there is missing two main ingredients like potassium citrate and acesulfame potassium. Acesulfame potassium is also a calorie-free sugar substitute and potassium citrate is a common ingredient in beverages.

If we look towards the information reads then we can find the 0 Calories, 0g Fat, 40mg Sodium, 0g Total Carbs, 0g Protein in diets Coke.

While Coca-Cola Zero’s nutritional information reads maybe 0 Calories, 0g Fat, 40mg Sodium, 0g Total Carbs, 0g Protein.

Although there are some common ingredients in both options the Chong” has made some difference. There is more phosphoric acid in Coke Zero than Diet Cock.  Further, it is also common that highly concentrated ingredients are listed first in the recipe.

Coke Zero has less sodium as it contains 25 mg in a 12-ounce serving. While it amounts maybe 40 mg per can of Diet Coke. The Cock Zero has less caffeine as it contains 34 mg in each can, while the caffeine amount in diet coke 46 mg.

  • Flavor Differences

The test may be similar as only 54 percent of tasters were able to tell the difference between Diet Coke and Coke Zero. Further, we can also make some difference in the base of flavors. Diet Coke has different flavors and it may be available in four different flavors like Cherry, Lime, Caffeine-free and Splenda substitute. While Coke Zero has only three flavors like Cherry, Vanilla, and Caffeine-free.

If we look at the main difference then we can see that Diet Coke has Citric Acid while Coke Zero does not. While Coke Zero has Potassium Citrate and Acesulfame potassium that is also called Sweetener.

Citric acid and potassium citrate are known for acidity stabilizers, so, again, the recipe differences are minor.

  • Healthiest Artificial Sweetener

Both options are considered Safe, However, the researchers suggest to avoid aspartame and acesulfame potassium.

If we look at which one is healthier then we can see that Diet Coke may have more health benefits.

If you are looking which is the healthier option. Neither one of these is better than the other, because there’s no major nutritional difference between them. As you know that soda isn’t the healthiest drink, but if you find yourself wanting to reach for a cold soda, it won’t matter if you choose Coke Zero or Diet Coke!

So the Coke Zero vs. Diet Coke debate can be settled. However, there are in fact some differences between the beverages.

Conclusion:

We have discussed some common differences between Diet Coke and Zero Coke. There are some common ingredients in both options and we can see only slight differences in the list of ingredients of diet coke and Zero Coke. Both are low calories drinks. However, both contain some amount of caffeine as the amount can be different in each item.

Diet Coke                     12.8 mg/100ml

Coke Zero                    9.6mg/100ml

So we can say the amount of Caffeine is higher in 12.8 mg per 100 ml and if we can see that in Coke Zero its amount is 9.6 mg/per 100 ml. So the caffeine amount is higher is Diet Coke as compared to Zero Coke. Further, there is the use of food acids in both options. Diet Coke can contain the 338 and 330 while Cock Zero contains 338 and 331 like Sodium Citrate. It is not much difference but we can say that there is a little difference in food acids. However the Zero Coke has higher selling ratio as compared to Diet Coke.
