Philosophical thinking

Before talking about philosophical thinking we should know what philosophy means are.

Philosophy is not a lifestyle. Not everybody has their own “Philosophy” Philosophy is not necessarily much of a theory. Philosophy is not a belief, nor a wish. Philosophy is an activity: a search for understanding. Philosophy is more of a thinking practice. Philosophy is a specific, special kind of thought or thinking style. Philosophy and its substance are not to be confused.

Philosophy is a thought activity, a kind of thinking. Philosophy is the most important and systematic way of thought that the human race has yet conceived. This intellectual process includes both an analytical mode of operation and synthetic one. Philosophy as a crucial and systematic thinking process includes overcoming uncertainty and unmasking assumptions, expose presuppositions, to discern significance, to check positions, to correct misconceptions, to look for explanations, to analyze world views and to challenge conceptual structures. This also involves dissipating ignorance, enriching knowledge, broadening experience, widening horizons, generating imagination, regulating emotions, exploring values, developing beliefs through logical inquiry, establishing behavioral habits, broaden considerations, synthesize knowledge and to seek wisdom.

Philosophy as a mechanism acts as an operation that reacts to the demand for knowledge on the part of society, putting together all that we know to get what we want. Viewed in this way, philosophy is part of human development practice, and thus an important, necessary part of the educational method.

Specifically, Philosophy is originally the search for wisdom, and Socrates defined it as the mental search for truths of things that lead to good. But the reality of philosophy is to delve into the science of speech, and the arbitration of reason in beliefs, including divinities, prophecies, and occultations, among others. Philosophy strives for consistency. Philosophical thinking is looking for absolute universal truths. This means independent of Empirical evidence or thinking.

It is important to know that Philosophy and education have the creation of a person’s complete intelligence, the understanding of the human potential as a shared objective.

Philosophical thinking

While the philosophical way of thinking exists alongside those of religion, science and art, it is distinct from them and influences each and every one of them and partially responds to developments in each of these fields or dimensions of human experience.

Knowledge is one of the leading conditions for the survival of human life, and it is the result of thousands of years of human experience. This situation; the various layers of life display certain similar characteristics and continuity of knowledge of the specialty field.

What is philosophical thinking?

Philosophical thought is the product of asking questions based on the human being’s curiosity and wonder and it is a form of analytical and challenging way of thinking about human and human life-related problems. Those who accept critical reasoning are those who transcend dogmatism, are not prejudiced and approach things from a specific perspective.

Characteristics of Philosophical Thought

The most important and distinctive characteristic of philosophical thinking is the questioning of it. In theory, the first step in solving a problem is to ask questions. Questioning; it’s an attempt to learn and attain the facts by constantly asking questions. According to Socrates, their inquiry ends with the essence and importance of life.

  • Do not worry: Curiosity is the state of mind that drives man to look for new things. Wonder; it is the desire to know that activates the mind on which science and philosophy are founded. By this curiosity the interested person seeks to challenge and find the facts. One can understand curiosity in philosophy as wanting to know life and trying to understand it.
  • Don’t doubt: philosophical doubt opens the door to new questions and enables you to come up with a different world view. Blindly embracing a concept is an action which is incompatible with philosophy. The philosophical mindset is that when it is subject to intellectual discipline and makes sense, it is not understood correctly. So the first step is to doubt Philosophical doubt has a particular purpose and system, it is not a random matter.
  • Astonishment: Philosophical amazement means more than a sense of surprise. The philosopher does not like normally acknowledge the universe. The world with the influence of habits and presuppositions doesn’t come as a surprise to most people. Acceptance of all as it does not seem like a question, but for the philosopher that is not the case.
  • Staged progress:  Philosophers have given different answers to similar questions since philosophy first emerged. Stacked refers to the fact that philosophical thinking has a quality that affects and advances with each other The development is not, as in science, a quantitative accumulation.
  • Criticism: Criticality is to filter a mind instead of acknowledging it for what it is while contemplating any thought or watching. Critical thought; It is a way of thinking built by processes of reasoning, interpretation and assessment When a issue is being addressed, it can be presented as the basic elements of being vital by subjecting it to a variety of checks, removing the constituent whole and judging it by exposing its positive and bad aspects.
  • To be rational: Philosophy is a subject- and method-based intellectual endeavor. To be logical also means that philosophy is not only an intellectual exercise but also follows the concepts of reason and reasoning.
  • Systematic: Philosophical thought has an ordered, coherent framework. Within this structure the philosopher who expresses his thoughts builds his own method and establishes an explanatory model for his thoughts. Within this model the ideas are progressive and interconnected. This connection forms the cornerstone of a holistic viewpoint.
  • Consistency: Consistency in philosophical thinking implies that, by having opposite ideas, the measures of thinking do not contradict each other, that is, they are correct. Because any philosophical thought cannot be proven in a practical sense, the assessment would be all about the inner integrity of philosophical thinking. The continuity of the basic steps of thinking that shape an opinion does not contradict one another or is consistent with one another.

To conclude, in order to understand what philosophy is, it is important to look closely at the topics related (thoughts) to mathematics and art, namely the natural and human sciences It. is important to man is not only reading philosophy and understanding philosophy, but also doing philosophy, being able to act philosophically or adopt a philosophical attitude. Philosophy making involves abstract thought.

In philosophical thinking, questions are more important than answers, thoughts are critical and questioning also, based on reason and grounding, has functions such as analysis and synthesis. Finally, every philosophical thought is the original view of the philosopher who put forth that thought.
